Public service has been part of Dan’s life from the beginning of adulthood, At the age of 24, he was named chairman of a town board and was the charter president of a local exchange club in southern Utah. For the past 16 years, he has continuously performed public duties, from the Davis School Board where he served as its president to the state transportation board which he chaired. Since 2000, he has served in the Utah State Senate, first in an appointed position and then as an elected office holder.

His public life has been in addition to a busy, productive entrepreneurial career. While working full-time at a bank at the age of 22, he embarked into his venture: a trailer park. After working for 10 years in banking in southern Nevada and southern Utah, he came north to the Salt Lake area to learn the auto dealer business. That was 1977. By 1980, he had his own dealership which he gradually grew into the top-selling Jeep dealership in Utah. In 1999, he sold Dan Eastman Chrysler/Jeep/Suzuki and turned his attention fulltime to public service and his growing family. At the age of 58, Dan Eastman is seeking re-election to the Utah State Senate seat, District 23.
